Here is why Mitt Romney lost the presidential election of November 2012.

Since many Americans believe on the separation of “church and state” it would be interesting and very awkward if Bishop Mitt Romney became the President of the United States in November 2012.

It would be the first time in US history that a high ranking member of a church (in this case the Mormon Church) became president of the United States and in the process ending the concept of the separation of “church and state” in the United States.

This is not the case of judging what kind of religion the president follows – in Mitt Romney's case means an actual high raking member of a religion a Bishop of the Mormon Church becoming the president of the United States.

I posted on this blogger a copy of some of my postings at the Elite Trader Forums, and my screen name on that forum is: SouthAmerica

SouthAmerica: With the US Armed Forces decimated by over ten years of fighting constant wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and all kinds of military adventures around the world – today the US Army is a basket case that can't keep up even with the Taliban in Afghanistan, a victory of Mitt Romney in the US presidential election of 2012 means you are voting for the “DRAFT.”

Mitt Romney has a plan to solve this unemployment problem for the kids age 18 to 30 years old – it is called the “DRAFT”.

If you vote for Mitt Romney you are voting for the return of the draft like during the Vietnam War – and you are voting to send the young members of your family to fight a meaningless war against Iran, and possibly the start of World War III.

It is time for the United States to think about peace, and not about war - and it is time for Americans to demand that the US government start to pay more attention and start rebuilding the US economy and try to fix the massive amount of problems that we have at home in the United States.

Please check the above video and let me know which part is not clear to you that Mitt Romney will start a war against Iran if he is elected president of the United States!

Mitt Romney said that if he is elected president he would start a war against Iran ASAP.

If you vote for Mitt Romney he will take care of your children, and grandchildren, and he will keep them busy in the Middle East and North Africa where your loved ones will have the opportunity of being blown up into little pieces, or if they can survive the experience they will become mental cases like the other over 100,000 young Americans who returned home from Iraq and Afghanistan in the last 10 years.

Just a Reminder: The good news for the American people is that they changed the rules regarding the draft since the Vietnam War, and this time around the woman also will be drafted and they will be sent to be slaughtered in some foreign land with the boys.

According to American activist Noam Chomsky If the Bush administration didn't like somebody, they'd kidnap them and send them to torture chambers. If the Obama administration decides they don't like somebody, they murder them. For many, that basically sums up the difference between the Democrat and Republican parties in the United States, not a whole lot. Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney told a small group of wealthy contributors what he truly thinks of all the voters who support President Barack Obama. He dismissed these Americans as freeloaders who pay no taxes, who don't assume responsibility for their lives, and who think government should take care of them.

"There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what," Romney is shown saying in a video posted online by the magazine. "There are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe that government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you name it."

He and Sam talked about how Bain Capital and Mitt Romney exemplified the shift from an industrial economy based on making things to a economy run on speculation, how Bain moved away from investing start up capital to simply loading existing companies with debt and stripping their assets and how the restaurant scene in Goodfellas is the best way to understand how Bain's business model works. (Interesting to see how unregulated capitalism cannibalizes itself.)

Sam lamented that the Democrats haven't followed up on Newt Gingrich's attacks on Bain he made during the primary and he and Matt agreed that the Democrats are still committed to making nice with Wall Street.

Bishop Mitt Romney and the Mormon Church

SouthAmerica: I wonder what Mitt Romney believes regarding his religion?

Is Mormonism a religion or a cult?

Here is a summary of what Bishop Mitt Romney and the Mormons really believe regarding their religion...

What the Mormons believe can appear to be a little bizarre, but again if we analyze most religions in detail then they are not far behind regarding their fairy tales....

Bishop Mitt Romney would be a very good president of the United States, and at any time he needs any guidance he will contact some other galaxy and ask for help and his Extra-terrestrial Gods will come to his rescue.

I can picture Bishop Mitt Romney as the new President of the United States at the White House getting in contact with the other Extra-terrestrial Gods – Mitt phone home!

Americans like to give nicknames if possible to simplify things, instead of calling him President Bishop Mitt Romney – the American people can call him President phone home!

"Right-Wing Billionaires Behind Mitt Romney"
They're trying to buy a presidency - and they expect a big payoff on their investment
By: Tim Dickinson
http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/right-wing-billionaires-behind-mitt-romney-20120524

Presidential politics has always been a rich man's game. But now, thanks to the Supreme Court ruling in Citizens United that upended decades of limits on campaign donations, financing a presidential race is the exclusive domain of the kind of megadonor whose portfolios make Mitt Romney look middle-class. "I have lots of money, and can give it legally now," Texas billionaire and top GOP moneyman Harold Simmons recently bragged to The Wall Street Journal. "Just never to Democrats."

In past elections, big donors like Simmons gave millions for advocacy groups like Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. By law, such groups were only allowed to run issue ads – but instead they directly targeted John Kerry, drawing big fines from the Federal Elections Commission. Now, with the blessing of the Supreme Court, the wealthy can legally hand out unlimited sums to groups that openly campaign for a candidate, knowing that their "dark money" donations will be kept entirely secret. The billionaire Koch brothers, for instance, have reportedly pledged $60 million to defeat President Obama this year – but their off-the-book contributions don't appear in any FEC filings.

...That capitulation is evident in Romney's campaign. Most of the megadonors backing his candidacy are elderly billionaires: Their median age is 66, and their median wealth is $1 billion. Each is looking for a payoff that will benefit his business interests, and they will all profit from Romney's pledge to eliminate inheritance taxes, extend the Bush tax cuts for the superwealthy – and then slash the top tax rate by another 20 percent.

Current Donations:
Before backing Romney with $800,000, Simmons made $1 million bets on Rick Perry, Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum. His total giving of $16.7 million makes him the GOP's second-largest investor after Adelson. The Crumbling of America

March 21, 2012

SouthAmerica:
Anyone with any common-sense would realize very quickly that Wisconsin Republican Rep. Paul Ryan is a real Moron.

About an hour ago I did watch for a while on C-Span3 a live debate of the House Budget Committee regarding the Republican Party 2013 budget plan.

Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan's Republican Party 2013 budget plan announced Tuesday, March 20, 2012 would change Medicare into a voucher-based system, drastically overhaul the tax code, repeal Obama's healthcare reform and scale back many social welfare programs by converting them into block grants.

The Republican 2013 budget plan would cut the Medicaid program by 45 percent, and also would cut 19 million people out from the food stamp program.

Rep. Paul Ryan is a real idiot, and he probably does not even know what kind of expenses are paid from the Medicaid program related to the ageing American population.

The reality is: the Medicaid program is going to go up because of the number of Baby Boomers are going to explode in the coming years, and many of these Baby Boomers will need the Medicaid program more than ever before.

First Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain had his silly program “999” to fix everything, and now we have Paul Ryan with his program known as “Euthanasia” to fix the Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid programs.

Euthanasia in the United States is a simple Republican Party solution to deal with the problem of a exploding baby generation.

The Republican Party solution: make “Euthanasia” legal in all states of the United States, and create a simple package deal including all the costs of “Euthanasia”, plus a body cremation, plus the price of a cremation urn.

This simple Republican Party solution it is like killing 3 birds with one stone, and it is a simple way to fix the Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid programs.

August 22, 2012

SouthAmerica: If you vote for the Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan Presidential ticket in 2012, then this is what you want to fix the problem with the American senior citizens population in the United States.

The Inuit people (Eskimos) practiced senilicide (the killing of old people), but as long as there was enough food to go around, everyone got their share, including the relatively unproductive.

On the other hand, when food did run short, the old and sick were looked upon as drains on the community's resources (a view not different than the Republican Party) - Where it was practiced, senilicide was rare except during famines.

Paul Ryan and the Republican Party likes to remind the American people that we are supposed to have a ruthless capitalist system in the United States where people are used and discarded as no longer useful in the blink of an eye.

Since “Euthanasia” will be the main feature of the Paul Ryan's and Republican Party strategy and the solution to fix the Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid programs then we need to start a discussion about what American senior citizens prefer as the main tool of coming “Senilicide” as follows:

Senicide

*****

Time to Put Mom On An Ice Floe

*****

Senilicide

Senilicide (the killing of old people) was never universal among Eskimos. It was common in some parts of their range but more so among the Inuit (Greenland to Northern Alaska) than the Yuit (western and south-western Alaska). Even among the Inuit, some groups found the custom repugnant.

Where it was practiced, senilicide was rare except during famines. As long as there was enough food to go around, everyone got their share, including the relatively unproductive. Given that the usual diet consisted of fairly dependable catches of caribou, fish, and sea mammals, many years could pass between episodes of scarcity. Considering the dangers of hunting, the old and infirm who weren't expected to hunt could outlive a hunter in his prime.

On the other hand, when food did run short, the old and sick were looked upon as drains on the community's resources. Sometimes they were killed – thrown into the sea, buried alive, locked out in the cold, or starved to death. Far more commonly they were simply abandoned to die. The victim might be taken out in the wilderness and left there, or the whole village might pick up and move away while the old person slept. If the villagers were unexpectedly restored to prosperity, they might go back to rescue those left behind. An abandoned person would also be welcomed back as a full member of the community if he could manage to make his way back to the village on his own. But usually he couldn't.

Most of what has been called senilicide is better called assisted suicide (though we can't discount the possibility of old people being pressured into asking for assistance). Unassisted suicide was also common, but in many regions, it was believed that a more pleasant afterlife awaited homicide victims (including volunteers) than suicides. Assisted suicide was always much more common than involuntary senilicide, and was common throughout the range inhabited by Eskimos, Yuit and Inuit alike. In hard times, older Eskimos often felt they were a burden, and asked their younger relatives to kill them. Similar requests could be made by any Eskimo, young or old, for any number of reasons: pain, grief, or clinical depression. The person who was asked to help felt bound to comply even if he had misgivings.

The popular legend that the Eskimos put their old people on ice floes and set them adrift is wrong in detail, but it's not terribly far off in the broad strokes. I can't say for sure how this particular idea got started, but it may have come from the movie The Savage Innocents (1959) starring Anthony Quinn or the novel it was based on, Top of the World (1950) by Hans Ruesch. (Thanks to SDSTAFF samclem for this lead.) I haven't seen the film, but I've just read the book and found two scenes of interest. In one, the mother-in-law Powtee is put out on the solid sea ice to die, only to be rescued soon after. In the other, the wife Asiak walks across the sea ice to drown herself in the open water. At the edge, a piece of ice breaks free under her weight and she floats along on this small ice floe briefly before drowning herself. It's possible that a conflation of these two episodes led to the popular idea of old people being set adrift on ice floes.

In addition to senilicide, some groups also practiced invalidicide (the killing of sick or disabled people). The sick received care as long as there was any hope of recovery. When hope faded, care ceased and they were left to die. Infanticide (especially female infanticide) was also fairly widespread, but not as universal or routine as has been depicted. Like senilicide, it was rare in most areas except during famine.

August 14, 2012

SouthAmerica: Here is some information that I posted on the ET economic forum about 6 years ago regarding this subject as follows:

CBS – “60 Minutes” – We Reached a Critical Point for the United States Economy

September 1, 2006

SouthAmerica:
...Instead of wasting trillions of borrowed US dollars (borrowed from the other countries around the world) to wage wars around the world – the United States government should instead focus its attention and resources to a more important matter related to the future of the United States – “The Ageing of America.”

Looking at strategies to deal with aging America it is by far a better use for all this borrowed money than used it to wage wars in foreign lands.

Why we are at a critical point regarding this ageing issue in the USA?

The issue is critical because the baby boomers — those born between 1946 and 1964 — began turning 60 this year and are rapidly approaching retirement age. By 2030, the number of people over age 65 in the United States will exceed 72 million — double the number in the year 2000. And with possible breakthroughs in science and technologies the number of Americans over age 65 can be even higher by 2030 – maybe as high as 75 million people.

The American mainstream media is doing a lousy job as usual and they are not raising the red flag to show to the American people this major shift in population age that is under way.

The mainstream media is not putting the spotlight on this coming problem. Most Americans are not aware of the magnitude of this problem and it is a problem that affects all of us – Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Catholics, Protestants, Jews, the rich, the poor, and so on – This should be among the major problems to be solved in the coming years and not be a problem that is not even showing in the radar of the Bush administration.

Today the United States has about 39 million people over the age of 65. But by 2030 – 24 years from now – this figure should grow to over 72 million people according to the US Census Bureau.

How is this going to happen?

One day in 2030 we will wake up in the United States and from nowhere the old folks multiplied themselves from 39 million people to 72 million people overnight?

No. That’s not the way that is going to happen.

What is going to happen in reality is that every year from 2006 to 2030 we will have approximately 1.4 million new people over age 65 to add to the number of people already over age 65.

Every single year we have a net gain of 1.4 new old folks to add to this pool of people -(The annual increase of 1.4 million is a net figure that takes into account the new group that turned 65 during the year less the old folks that died during that year.)

The best way to represent what is happening with this age group of people is to show a snow ball going downhill – at the top of the mountain we have a very small snowball going down hill - and as the snowball goes down hill the snowball increases in volume very fast as it picks more snow as it is rolling down hill on the mountain. By the time the snowball reaches the bottom of the mountain we have this massive snowball. The snowball grew so much in size with a little bit of snow at the time.

It is bad enough news that the population aged 65 and older is doubling in size between 2006 and 2030, but that is not the entire story – there is more bad news.

Research regarding the old folks shows that Medicare expenses increases drastically for the population who is classified as oldest-old (those aged 85 and older) – this group of people is supposed to grow from 4.7 million people in 2003 to 10 million people in 2030 and again double to 21 million people by 2050. The latter increase will reflect the movement of Baby Boomers into the oldest-old category.

As we dig it deeper this story gets even more interesting – The 1990 census reported that 37,000 Americans were centenarians. The number grew to 50,000 in Census 2000 – and it is projected that by 2030 the United States will have over 1 million people on this age category. Centenarians are the folks who are at least 100 years old.

Instead of a simple posting on this message board we can write an entire book regarding the impact that the snowballing of people aged 65 and older will have on the US economy year after year from now on…….

It is not going to be a pretty picture.

Most Americans have not realized as yet that this is a “train wreck” that is coming very soon – it is a process that is under way – that is not some information that people put together to just scare the population – This is the real thing and the figures include all of us that are living in the United States today – our parents, our grandparents, our uncles, and all sort of relatives – These figures are made of people who are alive and living today in the United States.

Can the United States afford to keep this war going indefinitely in Iraq and costing a fortune in borrowed money, when the United States could use instead these hundreds of billions of US borrowed dollars to prepare the country for the ageing of its population?

*****

The mainstream media is not doing their job in the US regarding this train wreck, but today thanks to the internet we can do the job for them.

Remember this is a problem that will affect the lives of everyone and it does not matter if you are a Republican, a Democrat or belong to any other type of category – Ageing in the United States is a problem that will affect most of us and we have to work together to find innovative solutions for this major problem that is coming to the old USA.

Note: The source of information for most numbers mentioned above you can find on a report published by the US Census Bureau.

2030 ………………72.6 ………………………10.1

The above table gives you a concrete estimate of the number of people age 65 and plus that we can reasonable expect here in the United States from 2006 to 2030.

I want to bring to your attention that these people are already here – they are your mother, your father, your grandparents, your relatives and friends – these are actual people living today in the United States.

These numbers can be even higher if we have some major breakthroughs in medicine, in healthcare, and also if the United States absorbs a massive amount of older illegal immigrants from other countries in the coming years.

What is happening here in the United States today regarding its population has never happened before. We don’t have a past history to be able to study the past. The United States never had so many old folks around. I want to remind you that the average age when people died in 1900 was around 47 years old.

Population of the United States

Year …….Millions of People

1900 …………….76
1910 …………….92
1920……………106
1930……………123
1940……………132
1950……………151
1960……………179
1970……………203
1980……………227
1990……………249
2000……………281
2006……………300

Longevity

People in the United States are living longer and healthier lives than ever before. Average life expectancy at birth rose from 47.3 in 1900 to 76.9 in 2000.

When Ronald Reagan was president in the 1980’s the United States still could afford to play the deficit game and heavy expenditure on defense since the “time bomb” of the Baby Boomer generation still decades in the future.

In 2006 the story is different the Baby Boomers are reaching age 60 and from now on they are going to have a tidal wave of people living in the United States over age 65.

The sudden increase in longevity will create a large pool of people over 85 and older and these older folks are going to cost a fortune to the US government in the coming years in Social Security, Medicare, and so on…..

SouthAmerica:
Today, October 4, 2006 the cable television channel “CNBC” on its program “Power Lunch” they did broadcast a live speech by Ben S. Bernanke the Federal Reserve Board Chairman at the Economic Club of Washington.

And on his remarks Ben Bernanke has raised the “red flag” that I have been mentioning on this thread – the tidal wave of Baby Boomers that will need Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid in the coming years.

This “Tsunami” (a very large tidal wave) is not something that is going to happen some day in the future. The “Tsunami” is here and it is time to run for the hills.

His speech was very good and “almost” to the point. Here is why:

The real problem “is not” with the Social Security fund, and Ben Bernake knows that, and in my opinion the government should leave the Social Security fund alone.

The real problem is with the “Medicare and Medicaid” funding. Here is were we have no way of knowing how much the old folks are going to cost the federal government in the future. Here is where the major problem lies and we need to develop new solutions for the Medicare and Medicaid problem.

Ben Bernanke told us on his remarks about the savings rate, about pensions, about deficits, about everything that he could think of – while he discussed anything and everything including cutting benefits in Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid – but he ignored and did not say a word and nobody wants to talk about it, including Mr. Bernanke, about “the elephant standing in the room.”

I understand why he can’t talk about “the elephant standing in the room” because of political reasons and that would be the last thing the Republican administration would expect from him as Fed Chairman.

The truth is the Fed Chairman can’t talk in public that the United States can’t afford all this “defense expending” and wage wars around the world with an incredible price tag attached to it at a time when there is a major crisis in the horizon that will require a ton of money in the US.

In a Nutshell: The United States will require a ton of money to be able to take care of this “Tsunami” of people aged 65 and older. And the United States can’t afford to spend all this money to keep the war in Iraq and in Afghanistan going on forever.

The worst part is that the United States is not using even its own money to fight the war on Iraq – the United States is using money borrowed from foreign countries at the tune of $ 3 billion US dollars per day.

I wonder for how long the Chinese, the Japan and other foreigners will continue lending money to the United States for the United States to wage war against other countries?

This is not money that is being invested for the future – this is money that is being pissed away very fast. Iraq is a money pit and it does not matter how long the US stays in Iraq things just are not going to improve – Only “FOOLS” would keep poring money and invest into baby-sitting a nasty sectarian civil war.

For the American people the choice is very clear: Use the money to take care of its ageing population at home or “piss the money” in fighting an illusionary war that at the end – it will turn out just like Vietnam and I already can picture seeing on television the last helicopter leaving a rooftop in Iraq with the last American personal that fought in the Iraq War.

For all practical purposes the Iraq War has been lost, it has been very clear to me for a long time, and now it is just a matter of time for someone to have the guts to cut the US losses short and return the occupational forces home from Iraq.

SouthAmerica: Here is another posting of mine at the ET economics forum regarding the US healthcare crisis, and the important role that “Medicaid” play at the end of the life of millions of Americans.

Regarding the senior citizens who live on nursing homes across the United States and a large number of these people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease – after these people run out of their financial resources then the “Medicaid” program step in and start paying the annual nursing home costs until that nursing home patient's death.

In the coming years when we consider the “Tsunami” - the tidal wave of “Baby Boomers” that will need Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid - and the sudden increase in longevity will create a very large pool of people over 85 and older and these older folks are going to cost a fortune to the US government in the coming years in Social Security, Medicare, and it will result also in an explosion on the cost of “Medicaid”.

At a time when the “Medicaid” program it will be needed more than ever by the American people the Paul Ryan budget scam calls for a cut of 45 percent of that very important social program.

U.S. Healthcare in Crisis

December 28, 2006

SouthAmerica:
...Another good friend of mine his single sister also was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease during the summer of 1997 and she was 74 years old at that time – her brother found a nursing home in Montclair, NJ where she has been living for almost 10 years.

After the lawyers sold her house and added to her savings she had over $ 500K to be used towards her nursing home care – about 2 years ago all the money was gone, and since then “Medicaid” has been paying her nursing home care. She is about 84 years old today and she can hang on for a few more years.

Over the years I went 3 or 4 times to the nursing home to visit her with her brother, and I can tell you that place is a very depressing place to visit even for a half hour – never mind having to live day after day in such a place. But we did show up at the nursing home on different days and at different times and the nursing home it seems to be giving her good care. But as you walk in the corridors of the nursing home you can see all these people just sitting on wheelchairs outside their rooms or just laying in bed waiting to die – it is not a pretty sight.

***

Note: She run out of money in 2007, and at that point the Medicaid program started paying for her nursing home expenses and she finally died in 2009.
